Hovey Kemp is a partner in Goodwin Procter’s Private Equity Group – one of the nation’s most highly regarded private equity practices – and serves leading private equity and venture capital firms and private equity-sponsored growth companies across the country. His practice focuses primarily on private equity and financing transactions in connection with middle-market leveraged buyouts and buildups across a number of industry verticals, including financial services. Mr. Kemp holds a JD from Georgetown University Law Center and an AB from Harvard University.
Goodwin's Private Equity Group has worked on a wide range of financial services and fin-tech investments on behalf of their private equity clients, including in connection with investments in companies engaged in insurance, online trading, wealth/asset management, securities lending, mutual fund advisory services, currency exchange solutions, ATM ownership and operations, bankruptcy administration, payroll and other back-office administration service, electronic benefit payment services and the provision of financial software, data applications and other technology solutions for banks, energy marketers, utilities, risk management and insurance companies and other commercial enterprises involved in the financial services industry.
